In our application for development consent this site intercepts the existing Hammersmith Pumping Station combined sewer overflow (CSO).

Hammersmith Pumping Station is an existing Thames Water pumping station site. This proposed site covers the pumping station and part of the Fulham Reach development (currently under construction) and minor highway works. The location of the site is shown below.

Construction is assumed to start in 2017 and be complete by 2020. Where appropriate some advance works may be carried out before the main construction period.

Work includes construction of underground structures to connect the CSO to a shaft approximately 33 metres deep with an internal diameter of approximately 11 metres. This would transfer sewage flows from the CSO to the main tunnel.

While most of the operational structures would be underground, ventilation columns and structures would be permanent above ground features, but located within the existing pumping station compound or building.

Please refer to the application documentation on the Planning Inspectorate’s website (link below) for full details of our proposals for this site.
