In our application for development consent this site intercepts the Falconbrook Pumping Station combined sewer overflow (CSO).

Falconbrook Pumping Station is largely an existing Thames Water pumping station site. This site encompasses the pumping station, a disused public convenience and a small area of York Gardens. The location of the site is shown below.

Construction is assumed to start in 2017 and be completed by 2019. Where appropriate some advance works may be carried out before the main construction period.

Work includes construction of underground structures to connect the CSO to a shaft of approximately 40 metres deep with an internal diameter of approximately nine metres. This shaft would be built to the west of the existing pumping station, and would transfer flows from the CSO to the main tunnel.

While most operational structures would be underground, a raised shaft cover, a ventilation column and other structures would be permanent above ground features, but largely located within the existing pumping station compound.

Please refer to the application documentation on the Planning Inspectorate’s website (link below) for full details of our proposals for this site.
