In our application for development consent this site is used to drive the main tunnel to Acton Storm Tanks and receive the main tunnel from Kirtling Street. It would also receive a long connection tunnel, known as the Frogmore connection tunnel, driven from Dormay Street. There are no combined sewer overflows at this site, so there would be no connection to the existing sewerage system

The Carnwath Road Riverside site is composed of two parts: a main site (which includes Whiffin Wharf, Hurlingham Wharf, Carnwath Road Industrial Estate and an area of the River Thames foreshore) and a small highways works site. The locations of the sites are shown below.

Construction is assumed to start in 2016 and be completed by 2022. Where appropriate some advance works may be carried out before the main construction period.

Work includes construction of a shaft approximately 42 metres deep with an internal diameter of approximately 25 metres. This shaft would be built predominately within Whiffin Wharf.

While most operational structures would be underground, a ventilation column and other structures would be permanent above ground features.

Please refer to the application documentation on the Planning Inspectorate’s website (link below) for full details of our proposals for this site.
