In our application for development consent this site intercepts the West Putney Storm Relief combined sewer overflow (CSO).

The Barn Elms site is in the south eastern corner of the Barn Elms Schools Sports Centre site. The surrounding area is a combination of mainly playing fields, but also residential and community facilities. The location of the site is shown below.

Construction is assumed to start in 2017 and be complete by 2019. Where appropriate some advance works may be carried out before the main construction period.

Work includes construction of underground structures to connect the CSO to a shaft approximately 34 metres deep with an internal diameter of approximately six metres. The shaft would transfer sewage flows from the CSO to the main tunnel.

While most of the operational structures would be underground, a combined ventilation structure and kiosk within a single structure would be a permanent above ground feature.

Please refer to the application documentation on the Planning Inspectorate’s website (link below) for full details of our proposals for this site.
