Jobs at Thames Tideway Tunnel
The proposed Thames Tideway Tunnel is a major new sewer to prevent the tens of millions of tonnes of untreated sewage which discharges into the tidal River Thames every year. It is one of the largest construction projects of its type in Europe. Tunnel construction on the project is due to start in 2016 and will involve 24 construction sites across London.
In preparation for the project, there are a number of temporary and permanent roles currently available to work directly for Thames Tideway Tunnel, alongside the delivery team.
The Thames Tideway Tunnel Forum brings together affected stakeholders from across London to facilitate open discussion on matters concerning implementation and construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel project.
The chair will play a pivotal role in bringing together all stakeholders views, including those which may be critical of aspects of the project and its delivery, taking an independent viewpoint and encourage all member organisations to work together throughout the remaining planning phase and the construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel programme.
Reporting to the Managing Director Thames Tideway Tunnel, the successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in dealing with multiple stakeholder groups, excellent mediation and facilitation skills and will have worked at a senior level in at least one major construction project.
The position is part-time, requiring approximately two days commitment a month. This is likely to increase as the project moves into the construction phase in 2015/16.
